Country Cream Drive-In
About This Spot
Stepping up to Country Cream Drive-In, you’re greeted by the slow, comforting rhythm of a classic small-town spot where time feels a little gentler. Nestled on E Davenport Avenue in Mer Rouge, this humble drive-in invites you to pause and savor a moment that harks back to simpler days — the kind of place where neighbors chat at the order window and familiar faces return like old friends.
The pace here is unhurried, with a quiet charm that tempts you to linger under the shade of a modest outdoor seating area or take your meal to go and enjoy it at your leisure. The atmosphere is genuine and warm, grounded in decades of family visits and community tradition. It’s not about rushing but about the casual joy of sharing good food with those who matter, whether it’s a quick bite or a nostalgic treat after a long drive.
At Country Cream Drive-In, the menu is a tapestry of comforting flavors and simple pleasures that have made it a beloved stop for generations. Think of the satisfying snap of a freshly grilled chili cheese burger or the familiar cool sweetness of a vanilla malt shake that carries with it memories as rich as its taste. There’s a unique kind of joy in watching orders come to life, from the hearty footlong hotdogs to the creamy, hand-scooped ice cream cups — each bite a reminder of those timeless moments when fast food means something more than just quick fuel.
What resonates most is the human connection woven into every visit. You’ll find that the regulars return for something beyond the food alone — it’s the soft-spoken greetings, the stories exchanged at the window, and that shared understanding that some places are worth the wait. Patience here isn’t just about the time it takes for your food; it’s about stepping into a space where appreciation for simple, honest flavors meets genuine care.
In a world that often rushes by, Country Cream Drive-In offers a quiet invitation: to slow down, savor each bite, and remember why some places stay in our hearts long after the last lick of an Oreo ice cream cup.

The last time I visited Country Cream was with my Grandfather in 1976 and the Banna Malt shake still traset great. This time I was a old enough to get a chillie dog and I was worth the wait.

We went because of the yogurt style ice cream. Very good to everyone with me. Not great for me, but I like regular vanilla milk shakes. Order at the window, and take it with you. There was a shaded area to sit, but weren't eating. People were very nice also

Best place for chili cheese burgers! I've been coming here for about 10 years. The food has been good almost every time, but the ice cream is delicious every time! I tried their chilidogs once, and I could not eat half of one chilidog. Much less finish the two I purchased, and I usually love chilidogs... I do recommend eating at this establishment, if you have the patience to wait on a food order! I have waited for a chili cheese burger and fries for almost 45 minutes once. It's usually at least a 30 minute for a food order.

We absolutely love this place, I thought I did a review on this not long ago but I guess I did not. I don’t get to make it out this way very often, but when I do, I have to remember to bring cash because that’s all they accept. Normally I wouldn’t go out of my way to to inconvenience myself for such a luxury. However, this is a childhood staple of mine. We mainly get the ice cream, how can you not. I only get a stop by about once every couple years, but when I do, it brings back so many memories. As long as the door stay open, and I happen to be in the neighborhood, you better believe I’ll be there!

The perfect small town creamery. There is a reason they have been open this many decades. Great burger too if you aren't in a hurry. Truly cooked to order.
